So Facebook have rebranded again. This time they’ve rebranded to distinguish the company from away from the core application.
The new facebook design just focuses on a simple word mark and drops the icon that’s now a reminder from the early 2010s. Whilst its a bespoke typeface, which is nice – but its so similar to existing typefaces – it just doesn’t look unique enough?
I guess the designers at the rebrand agency have obviously being watching the new HBO Series The Succession and took inspiration – it clearly shows.
I can only imagine how much time facebook spent on the redesign, and how much the logo design cost.. but I would have expected something a little more ground breaking which helped brand to stop being open to as much ridicule as they’re now seeing.
